Multiplex and megaplex theater chain shows mainstream movies in a plush setting..
In Short
In 1920, Edward Durwood opened a single-screen picture house in Kansas City, Mo. Over the next 40 years, his company went on to pioneer the use of four- and six-screen theaters. In
1969, the company incorporated as American Multi-Cinema Inc. in honor of its signature multiplexes. Great for "Date Night". My husband and I head over to the area for date night. We grab dinner at one of the many nearby restaurants, go to Barnes & Noble's then go to the movie. We love the tiered seating and usually get there early enough to get the two side seats right above the entrance opening. Even in a packed theater we have never felt crowded. They have such a wide variety of films, we have never NOT found what we wanted to see. This is pretty much the only theater we go to anymore ( and it's not the closest to us!!).…
Best place in town for movies. If you are early you may go to the book store next to the theater or visit other nearby shops. If you want to avoid traffic don't use 39th Street, use the road behind the theatres, it is never busy and there is also parking as you pull into the rear. The theater experience is total, all age groups are present, the more the merrier so audience interaction is part of the fun, you will seldom be let down.…

But, the place is ALWAYS busy, and the seats are uncomfortable and too close together. There's always someone talking and carrying on about something or a kid, or adult for that matter, kicking the back of you seat. If you're in the middle of the row, you have to jump over people to get out to the isle, it's just not comfortable. I don't recommend this place.…
